Watch This Ex-NFL Player Explain Privilege And Brock Turner’s Rape Sentence
Brock Turner is a rapist and the literal scum of the earth. This ex-NFL player has thoughts about why his case is about privilege rather than justice.
After he was found raping an unconscious woman behind a dumpster, the Stanford University student and his family made every appeal to the public possible to deny guilt. Then, the judge in his case only sentenced him to six months explaining that jail would have a negative impact on Turner. Meanwhile, the young woman whose life was forever changed has had to endure the entire ordeal, never having her experience centered or addressed.
Brian Banks, an ex-NFL player who served five years for a rape he didn’t commit, responded to Brock’s lenient rape sentencing by citing issues of class privilege and systemic racism.
Banks told a CNN host that this sentencing issue is “disgusting” and “appalling” for a host of reasons. “It’s not just privilege by race, it’s privilege by money,” he said.
